Switch - final year university project
date:
2006
I created "Switch" as my final year project when studying
Multimedia at Brunel University. Switch is a dynamic new application designed
to help people find clothes to match what they are already wearing. Designed
to fit into store changing rooms, Switch asks the user a number of questions,
takes a photo of the customer and using pixel grabbing technology, is
able to match the colour of their clothes to a large number of clothing
items, stored in a database. Images of the suggested coordinating items
are then returned to the user, on an attractive interface, along with
the item’s description and price. The user then has a number of advanced
options available to them: to add items to their shopping basket, to view
or print a map of the item’s location within the store, to call for assistance,
view the next 6 matching items or send a picture of a favorite item to
a friend’s mobile phone to ask for advice.
